As construction projects become more complex and delivery schedules continue to tighten, contractors are increasingly challenged to find faster and smarter ways to build. Nord-Rack, Nordeston's Prefabricated Multi-Trade Rack (MTR) solutions shift much of the mechanical assembly work offsite, allowing installation in the field to be completed in a fraction of the time. When combined with modular systems, these assemblies offer greater flexibility, improved coordination, and significant schedule savings.

The Nordeston team develops project-specific Multi-Trade Rack solutions tailored to each set of requirements. Leveraging modular systems such as Unistrut and Sikla siFramo, these designs are engineered to meet current needs while remaining flexible enough to adapt as operations expand. Our team delivers complete structural design packages using both 2D and 3D design platforms, including P/E-stamped drawings, BIM coordination, and detailed shop drawings for all MTR solutions.

Nordeston has the capability to prefabricate complete Multi-Trade Rack systems in-house. Using weld-free, configurable metal framing solutions, offsite fabrication becomes faster and more efficient, helping to significantly reduce overall project schedules. We also offer kitting and sub-assembly services to support a wide range of project needs. By completing as much work as possible in our warehouse, we help minimize onsite labor demands and allow field teams to focus on installation and coordination.

Our Multi-Trade Racks can be installed onsite within hours, without welding or specialized labor, since both systems are assembled and adjusted using standard hand tools. Installation can be handled directly by the Unistrut Midwest team, or client crews can be trained to perform the work themselves. The inherent adjustability of these systems allows for quick adaptation to unexpected site conditions, including uneven or out-of-level concrete.
By shifting mechanical, electrical and plumbing constructions offsite, labor can be deployed far more effectively. Instead of spending days or weeks fabricating welded steel systems in the field, crews remain focused on other critical activities while racks are prepared in advance. Using Nord-Rack, installation requires only basic hand tools and minimal training. This approach dramatically reduces onsite installation time compared to traditional welded steel systems, a key benefit for an industry facing ongoing labor and time shortages.
Shifting the majority of secondary construction to an offsite, ground-level environment significantly enhances overall jobsite safety. By reducing the amount of time crews spend working overhead during stick-built installations, the risk of injuries is minimized and safer working conditions are created for everyone on site.
Nord-Rack solutions improve efficiency while maintaining long-term flexibility. By supporting multiple services such as electrical conduit, cable, domestic water lines, and more within a single rack, these systems reduce overhead congestion between trades and help streamline coordination, resulting in faster and more predictable project schedules.
